Activation

Online and offline activation bind a signed license to an approved server fingerprint.

Purpose

Enable valid installations while keeping signing keys isolated.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Licenses in the Customer Portal.
  2. Select the license and target server.
  3. Submit online activation or download an offline request.
  4. Apply the signed response.
  5. Verify activation history and entitlement status.

Example

Offline files are signed by the licensing server; private keys never leave it.

Best practices

  • Record transfers.
  • Do not clone activated system identities.

Troubleshooting

  • Check time, fingerprint, server limit, subscription, and grace status.
  • Contact support with the activation identifier—not private keys.
